Leather Trim for Fall

Remember what I said about luxurious embellishments and trims being important for Fall 2012? Well, in this post-recession/pre-recovery world, leather now counts as a luxurious embellishment. Leather accents were on the runway at Michael Kors, DKNY, and Diane von Furstenberg, to name a few. Finding real leather trim at the <$100 price point is, however, still tricky. I’m guessing that this is because real leather is a much more difficult material to work with than is pleather, so the price points are reflecting labor, rather than material, costs.

But I did find some good pieces. And don’t be afraid to accent a tweedy short sleeve dress, sweater with pushed up sleeves, or even a t-shirt with long leather gloves. They’re a great way to get your leather accent on.
